POpsicle

Yes ladies and gentlemen, we have a popsicle. Which is good, because last time she was given a popsicle right before she delivered and it made her all cold and shaky and such. Which made me nervous. However, today the popsicle came early. w00t!

hello pitocin

Prepare for the itchiness, automatic contraction medicine is on the way. Pitocin is flowing through the pump now, get ready world. Little girly is doing wonderful, heartbeat is good, she’s in a great position and we’re all excited to get going. It’ll be at least until the afternoon. SB is talking with the nurse about autism and the spectrum. Everything is looking good at this point. No cool pictures yet.

Well that was a rush

Well we just saw Br. Bellante, who was ready to break Sarabeth’s water! I was like…Oh..Ok..really getting to business early are we! So she ordered her hook and such, but SB needs antibiotics running through her system for the baby, so we were potentially looking at seeing baby girl within the next hour, but then she got pushed back to after 12. Was a false rush, that’s for sure! I guess that antibiotics can sting/burn a little bit when they are put in through an IV, SB is getting an ice pack now for it. Let’s hope that the Pitocin later doesn’t have the itchy side effect also again.

SB is a champion!!!

getting settled in

We are here and getting ready. SB has the monitors on and we are just relaxing for now. Our nurse it getting the IV ready and then we fill out the mountain of paperwork. I’ve never been quite sure of that order. I’d think that you’d fill out paperwork first, then get in the bed and your IV and such. Getting excited! I’m personally rooting for after lunch, because I got no breakfast this morning. Not like what I’m physically feeling is really on the scale of importance this morning, however if I pass out the blog posts will cease. And you don’t want that. I think.

The night before, we went to a movie

Well, later this morning Sarabeth and I will be going to the hospital to meet the newest addition to our family! But you may ask! Joe, why are you up so late the night before your wife will give birth? It goes like this. When we realized that Sarabeth’s induction date was the same day as the Toy Story 3 release, our hearts sank a little. We had been planning to go see that one in theatres together for a long time! Just when we thought all hope was lost, one of our friends who can pull strings told us we could go see a private sneak peek screening at midnight! What were we to say but heck yes! By the way, Toy Story 3 is an awesome movie. Some parts would be scary for kids under 5, and it definitely will hit you where it counts if you’ve ever loved your childhood toys. Well, I’d better get to sleep. Sarabeth might need me tomorrow.

Baby Clarke 2!

Yes ladies and gentlemen, baby Clarke #2 will be here on or before Friday of this coming week. Stay tuned to the blog for “almost on the hour” live updates! We can’t wait to welcome the newest addition to our little family.
