all is well

It’s Saturday morning and all is well here with the Clarke Family. After fetching Wendys for SB, I ended up going home last night to get some sleep, because that “daddy chair that turns into the most uncomfortable bed ever” fails at life. I understand that they have to try to put something in here so fathers aren’t sleeping upright in chairs, but sleeping on that chair folded out is like trying to sleep across the San Andreas fault line. I feel much better now that I’m well rested and refreshed for today.

Speaking of which, I am back on the scene here at MGH. Now time for visitors! If you feel like stopping by, all we ask is that you give me or SB a call first. Thanks all!!

7cm and sitting up

SB is 7cm and sitting up. The contractions are really close together now. I’m thinking in the next hour we’ll have some little baby Clarke pictures to post. Last time when SB sat up things really started progressing at a much faster pace. And take a look below, the contractions are really occurring much more frequently than even a few minutes ago.

Yeah, if she were feeling those contractions it would be “YOU DID THIS TO ME!!!!” time in our room. Hooray for modern medicine.

Jillian visits!

Little Jillian decided to pay us a visit! This is probably the last time she’ll see us before we have her sister with us! She was kind of ancy because we didn’t really want her running around or pulling anything, so we pretty much held her. Hooray!

epidural time

Below we have Dale the man delivering the goods. When he left I told him that I wasn’t sure how much he is being paid, but it needs to be more. SB did great, she held perfectly still. Note to self, make sure you eat when you get light headed easily. I started thinking wayyy to much about what was actually happening. Then I had to call my dad and say “Hey, bring me some food quickly please, I’m getting light headed”. To add insult to injury, his phone was breaking up so I had to repeat it loudly 4 times. And then had to call him back and repeat the message. Price of an empty stomach and being a wuss. It was cause for laughter. So I just ate it and now I’m back to normal.

And now it’s peaceful and quiet up here in the birthing suite. SB is takin a nap and I’m crunching on some baked Lays chips. SB is doing a terrific job! I can’t wait to meet the little girlie.
