Can he be back into the swing?!

He just might be. I may have come out of the posting drought that has been in effect ever since the great blogging of the birth of Jillian.

What is on the chopping block today?

First of all, Tiger Woods? Is he a sleaze-bag? Yes. Plenty of men in their lifetimes have been sleaze-bags, and that’s all I want to say about that. I despise celebrity gossip like you wouldn’t believe, so everybody just drop it already.

Secondly, it’s getting to be Christmastime around here, and there’s no snow! It’s not like I’m complaining, I enjoy getting to work in under 3 hours. I’m just saying enjoy it while it lasts, or I might just have to move on down to Florida or something.

Modern Warfare 2 has been a blast! I certainly don’t enjoy the server-less aspect of the game, (lag off the bat, the need for host migration) but the fact that I have been actually playing with my clan mates instead of against them has been awesome. It’s really easy to find really good matchups online. The perks and everything are pretty awesome. Recently I’ve been favoring the P90 red dot with sprint, lightweight and improved melee combat. It’s a good kit for me. I haven’t had a lot of time to play, but when I do I really enjoy it.

I’m looking forward to Jillian’s first Christmas, I’m not sure if she’s going to even know what it is, but we’re thinking it’ll at least be one heck of a photo-op. SOO, this has been a popular topic of discussion: Santa. Do you feed your kids the lies of the bearded saint that comes down your chimney? In some neighborhoods you might get shot coming down a chimney, especially on Christmas. I’m pretty sure I’m just going to flat out tell Jillian there isn’t a Santa. Hate me all you want, I just don’t see the point in lying about something a trivial as a fictitious non-reason for the season.

I think that’s quite enough spouting for one evening to be considered “back”.

Oh Man, why did I stumble across that photo?!?!

Now the only thing I can think about is Browns doughnuts from the NJ boardwalk. Oh man. Not only are they closed for the season, but they’re about 9 hours away. Both of these things make me sad.

These doughnuts are beyond fabulous and this is why. They make them right there in front of you and powder them and throw them in a box right in front of you. This is no Krispy Kreme people, this is top notch quality sugar people. My wife just yelled at me for typing this much about browns doughnuts. I guess that means I should post it. Or she is hungry. I think both.

nine months

Jillian is nine months old, well almost ten months old now, but I still wanted to take come pics and capture this quick month and the changes in her. At her last doctor’s appointment she weighed just over 15 pounds and was 27  and 1/4 inches long. She is our little string bean, but still has a baby gut :)

Has it really been that long? An update from Joe

Yes, yes it has. I haven’t actually brought a legitimate update since, vacation? Yikes. I figured since I’m waiting for my virtual SCCM lab to be built that I’d do something that doesn’t require much processor and update you all on what’s going on in my life.

It’s been an interesting few months, lots of visits, lots of new technology, lots of life changes.

Grandpa Joe passed away not too long ago and we all miss him a lot. He was my namesake, and I always felt somewhat of a special bond with him because of that. It was wonderful to see all the extended family, I wish under different circumstances, but it was still great to see Jimmy. It had been 2 years since I’d seen him, and he finally got to see Jillian. He even “saved” her once, because she was crying upstairs and the baby monitor ran out of battery, so he brought her down to the basement to me and Sarabeth, holding Jillian under her shoulders and proudly exclaimed “I saved her!!!” which I thought was both funny and cool at the same time.

I got the Droid. Yes, yes folks I did. Let me give you a rundown of my favorite apps:

  • Shop Savvy – Scans barcodes, Live internet pricing comparison
  • Key Ring – Scans in your keyring cards like giant eagle, so you can your phone instead of the cards
  • PhoneFlicks – Manage my Netflix queue
  • Pandora Radio – streaming internet radio
  • SNesoid – SNES emulator
  • Google Maps – featuring spoken turn by turn directions with phenomenal voice command integration
  • RemoteDroid – Allows you to use the droid as a touchpad/keyboard for any computer on the same wifi network.
  • Twidroid – Twitter updates

Yep, quite a selection. That’s just some of my favorites, and I’m discovering new ones every day. I haven’t bought one yet, but am looking to buy one soon.

Jillian Jillian Jillian. That little girly has absolutely stolen my heart. I love it when she starts falling asleep on me like she did today, just relaxing nodding off, then comfortably stretched out on my shoulder.

I have to cut it short because it’s getting late and I have ADD, so it took me like an hour to get this far. Hopefully next week I’ll have some more big news to report.
